Monash SEED (Socio-Economic Engagement and Development) is a socially minded student-run organisation that seeks to provide students with the opportunity to engage in social impact through Microfinance and Social Enterprise. We hope to provide students with the opportunity to gain exposure to careers in social impact and contribute to domestic and international projects. We intend to deliver value to our beneficiaries by way of contributing to the success of their organisational operations, or directly working with, and equipping capable individuals with the necessary tools and opportunities to access financial services and work towards economic empowerment.
SEED’s Microfinance Branch, is looking for committed, self-driven and socially minded students seeking hands on experience in the field of Education, Research, Business Development and Community Development. Throughout the semester, you will play an active role in the development of initiatives and projects which you will have the chance to implement once in Cambodia. During the semester, you will work closely with the latest travel team who will bring invaluable knowledge to the table regarding our key stakeholders and the local community in Cambodia.
Positions are available for Travelling Team Members to participate in the continued development and expansion of an education program delivered to Primary School and High School students in Thnal Dach village, Cambodia. Working in conjunction with our local consultant Hak Hort, the project will aim to build upon past initiatives to further solidify the teaching curriculum administered by our partner organization, Village and Volunteer Help in Cambodia Organisation (VVHCO). Successful applicants are required to commit to the project for Semester 2 2017 and Semester 1 2018 with travel to Cambodia during the Summer Break.
We are looking for independent, self-driven and socially minded students seeking hands on experience working with a reputable Microfinance Institution, SPBD Fiji. This project will involve project preparation throughout Semester 2 and then travelling to Fiji in January to work with SPBD Fiji. The project will involve developing and administering Member Satisfaction Surveys in order to evaluate the satisfaction of SPBD’s Members. Alongside this, the team will be responsible for facilitating focus group discussions and conducting interviews with staff and members. This project will aim to survey a sample size of 300 members who are dispersed across five SPBD Branches, located across three of Fiji’s main islands.
